Horowitz Theatre is a concert hall located in the Students' Union Building named in honour of Myer Horowitz, the ninth president of the University of Alberta (1979 to 1989). Myer Horowitz was also chair of elementary education, dean of education, and vice-president academic at the University of Alberta and has been recognized as a leader in research in teacher education. The Myer Horowitz Endowment Fund was established to foster new initiatives in research in teacher education, particularly research in pre-service teacher education.
